The family Mascari make their way through the small village of Jungen after [[Jory Bhanti]] pulls them to the docks. The energy and spirit is high in this small village, even though they are surrounded by an ever enclosing ring that will inevitably lead to their demise. The party, now refreshed and renewed after the fight with the tentacle fish, heads through the village for their meeting with [[Pradu Bhanti]]. On their way, they stop at a few peculiar stores that peaked their interest. The village was populated with various non-human humanoids. Lion folk, Kenku, Toad folk, Centaurs, Bear folk… many variations of humanoid animals roamed about in this mostly farming esque village. Providing food was their main priority it would seem, as they live deep in the swamp and there is little ground to be planted. For the most part, everyone minded their own business, but the family couldn’t help but notice how unsettled the rest of the townsfolk were. Mothers grabbing their cubs by the napes and tugging them into their mushroom homes, Ape folk climbing the trees to watch from a better location. It was easy to see unfamiliar humans were not the most welcome. ![[Pasted image 20260913122706.png]] The Mascari’s and friends first stop was [[Terry’s Tinctures and Tonics]], a small herbal store where an elderly tortoise can be seen feverishly mixing a fresh pot of something green and runny…. And smelled of both rot and fresh limes. The family learned several things through a brief discussion with [[Terry the Turtle]] and his daughter. Carlo had requested the elderly turtle examine a potion he had acquired in Delor, to which the old turtle was amazed he was able to hold something such as this. It was a potion blessed by the hands of a God, mixed with ingredients that could be found in this Jungle. Pollen from the Rose Sisters south of [[Rachwall]], and some mixed ingredients from his old alchemy shop in Rachwall would make the base of the potion, but Carlo would need a way to interact with a God in order to have them physically touch the potion, or bless it in some way. [[Emmy Mascari]] learned that as of now there is no way to alchemicalize a potion to block with interference with the soul, but has heard that there were theories on it from years ago. ![[Pasted image 20260913124341.png]] Next they wound their way up and around the massive trees using a system of ladders and rope bridges to find their way to [[Tiki’s Shiny Hut]]. Inside, they found a Kenku by the name of [[Tikkik]], but goes by Tiki. Tiki was hard at work enhancing a bow that was currently hovering in the air covered in shimmering light. The light seemed to be magic pulled from the air, condensed, then shoved into the bow itself. ![[Pasted image 20260915113740.png]] As the magic flow subsided and the bow took on a beautiful shimmer, Kenku took one last look at his fine craftsmanship… and fell flat on his face from exhaustion. With no hesitation, Emmy kneeled next to the unconscious Kenku and cast Greater Restoration, removing the debilitated Kenku’s exhaustion. Unfortunately the timid bird man kept to himself for the most part, and was unaware humanoids would be entering Jungen anytime soon. So after some quick conversation, it [[Tikkik]] felt much better about his present situation, and warmed up to the group. He revealed to the family that he was a magic infuser. He could take weapons, monster hearts, or raw ore and infuse those items with magic distilled and concentrated from the air around him. As ambient magic flows naturally through the air you breathe, he was able to take that magic, swirl it about, and assist the magic and item to work together to unlock hidden abilities of the weapon they would come together to make. When asked if he could do this freely, he explained that only strong ore’s (+4 or +5 MAYBE a +3 if the monster heart was strong enough) could be infused as such, OR just infuse the monster heart that would then need to be smithed by a master into a weapon, armor, or other item. At the mention that the family was to meet the Bhanti Family to discuss how the families could help another, Kenku perked up, and insisted he was to meet them and deliver this bow. Tiki hopped out the window and flew down to the mushroom house that was the Bhanti Families residence. The family followed, heading down bridges and ladders to the ground and followed the path to the reinforced mushroom. They had taken one of the mushrooms that had possibly fallen over, built a wooden support foundation beneath it, built it higher, and fortified the shroom to make it a viable home/meeting place. On the inside,[[Bayla Bhanti]], [[Pradu Bhanti]], and [[Tikkik]] sat around a table and were already in discussion as the family approached. They were greeted with an incredible selection of tea from Bayla, as they settled into a long conversation as to how the family could help, and what the Bhanti’s could potentially offer in return. Even though Pradu (me) was unable to adequately express she had information that could help them… She struggled with where to even begin. After much back and forth, the family learned that the Temple of Eldath sat atop a large ridge at the back of the city that used to be Rachwall. The family would need to follow a winding path through the city and up a steep incline to arrive at the Temple that once sat at the very top, built around a natural water spring that flowed a high volume of water out of the entrance of the temple, joining a river that ran along side of it, and turned into a gorgeous waterfall…. The waterfall had ceased flowing, water no longer came from the entrance of the Temple. Recon of the city is as follows ==Docks==: Empty, Blight has begun making its way in waves of black tendrils like vast tree roots that have just reached the water itself. Touching the blight will damage any who stay in contact with it, but there’s more than enough space to step over and through all of the blackness to reach almost anywhere, although some places may take longer than others. ==Inner city==: Most of the architecture has been destroyed, broken down, or is barely standing. The blight has taken over the entire town, except for the two temples that reside in the city itself. The temple of Oghma and Mystra. [[Terry the Turtle]] also informed the group that if they were to make their way into his old alchemist’s shop, there was a root in the back that should have held up to the damage, and beneath that root is a small cache of ingredients that could help with future brews. Carlo in particular would benefit from a very rare powder down there. ==East of the City==: At the base of the waterfall lies a cavern that is inhabited by two beings, called the Rose Sisters. The area around them had been infested with blight, and the once happy sisters now were the cause of numerous deaths to those who come close. With this new information, the team asked for Jory to accompany them again, to which Pradu reluctantly agreed… but Jory was ecstatic to join in. With this, the party left. On their way out, to the east of the mushut (mushroom hut) Indigo can be seen training a fair number of animal humanoids to fight… and although he appears to be a master in his own right… his trainees are not showing the same level of ability. ![[Pasted image 20260915130328.png]] Jory guided the Mascari’s through the stagnant river and tributaries, tracking north west towards [[Rachwall]]. They arrived after half a day’s travel, finding the docks empty as Pradu had said they would be. The team made their way through the city outskirts and stopped on the outside of the city square. Inside they could make out the shape of two temples that, while damaged, remained free from the blight. They could also possibly make out the alchemy shop that Terry had discussed with them. Instead of investigating further, Carlo suggested to the group that perhaps it would be a better idea to free the temple of Eldath first, possibly removing the blight from the Jungle, thus making it easier and safer to traverse. As the group was discussing their next move, several members of the party noticed a large shape, nimbly leaping from the tree to tree, hiding along the way. As it leapt from a tall tree onto the roof of the temple of Oghma, the family heard a horrid bellow from that direction… that quickly faded as the large shape dove into the brush, and disappeared again. The family began their ascent. A winding path of dirt and blight led them to Eldath’s Temple. With careful steps and alerted senses, the family carefully trekked Up the gorgeous landscape overcome by blight And made their way to the clearing that housed the temple. Along the way, Carlo and Silvertongue Were able to pick up that they were, in fact, still being followed by that large creature. Silver had picked up the smell of rotting flesh, the rattling of bones, and was able to see an antler protruding from behind a tree. As they made their way closer to the temple, The brick and woodwork of the temple appeared 100% intact. Other than the natural ravages of time, the temple looked great other than the giant gnarled tree that had grown from the rear of the building through the roof. A trench can be seen coming from the front of the building that would join up with the river and cascade down the cliff side to the jungle below. The trench was completely dry, in the river that had one been deep and clear, was now thick and murky, and filled with rotting blight. Massive roots had destroyed a portion of the side of the temple, and was clearly tainting in the water. With no sign of what was following them, the team creeped inside the temple. Inside, they fgound the trenches matched up with the stone work on the inside. The temple indeed had an out flow, and at it's source... A massive treant with a hideous purple undulating core sat above atop the alter, blocking the evident hole the spring used to flow from. The tree remained silent... ever still. Dormant for the moment... the team investigated the room. Behind thew tree they were able to find a staircase mostly blocked by one of the treant's roots... with a hole just large enough for a small rodent. Picking up on this immediately, Emmy and Carlo instructed Volt to creep past the massive root, and head to the basement and see what she could find. At this time, Silver summons a tiny hut for the group to discuss in secrecy. After a short time the team exits the hut, and casts an assortment of spells and auras, dealing a total of 128 damage to the tree. Emmy cast a aura spell that i will for sure have to have her read again. Sometime over the next week I will add to this summary.
